Основная задача химической динамики – определить структуру переходного состояния и проследить динамику его образования и распада в реальном времени.

For decades now, chemists have been dreaming of observing exactly what happens at the molecular level during a chemical reaction. The breakthrough came at the end of the 80s with the development of special spectrometers that use extremely short-pulsed laser light and so enable measurements in the femtosecond range. Since then, "femtochemistry" has made rapid progress, due to intensive collaboration between physical chemists, spectroscopists, photochemists and physicists.
The first-class contributions collected here from top international femtochemists provide a comprehensive insight into this area of interdisciplinary research. The range extends from femtochemistry in nanohollows to the investigation of the dynamics of biological reactions in the femtosecond range, from ab initio approaches to quantum chemical reaction controls to two-dimensional, nonlinear optical spectroscopy in liquids. This overview of the current level of research is rounded off with A. Zewail's Nobel prizewinning lecture. The vast amount of information and numerous references make this not only an ideal introduction to the research, but also recommended reading for everyone concerned with this hot topic.

Обсуждаются данные литературы и авторов монографии по синтезу модифицированных аминокислот (N-метиламинокислот, а-алкил-аминокислот, дегидроаминокислот, а также а-аминоальдегидов). Из большого числа известных методов выявлены наиболее технологичные. Рассмотрено получение конкретных модифицированных аминокислот (саркозина, а-аминоизомасляной кислоты, 3,4-дегидропролина и др.).
Показаны биологические свойства модифицированных аминокислот и их производных как ингибиторов ферментов и других биологически активных соединений.
Сопоставлена реакционная способность естественных и модифицированных аминокислот в пептидном синтезе и выявлены методы, обеспечивающие высокие выходы модифицированных пептидов. Такие пептиды обладают более селективным действием, нередко повышенной на 2—3 порядка биологической активностью (аналоги энкефалина, арги-нинвазопрессина и др.) и увеличенной устойчивостью к ферментативному расщеплению по сравнению с пептидами, содержащими лишь остатки природных аминокислот. Установлено, что введение остатков модифицированных аминокислот в молекулу пептидов в ряде случаев вызывает изменение конформации последних. Показано распространение производных модифицированных аминокислот в природе.
Отдельная глава посвящена энантиоселективному гидрированию дегидроаминокислот, их производных и дегидропептидов в присутствии комплексных родиевых и других хиральных металлоорганических катализаторов в соответствующие насыщенные производные. Конденсация альдегидов с производными глицина с последующим энантиоселективным гидрированием дегидроаминокислот признана важным способом получения модифицированных насыщенных аминокислот.

field, and their efforts and time should be greatly appreciated. Also, I sincerely
thank the efficient and careful editing by Ms. Iva Simcic.
Research on graphene is a fast developing field, with new concepts and applications
appearing at an incredible rate. It is impossible to embody all the information
related to this subject in a single collection, and hopefully it could be of any help to
people who are interested in this field.

Добавлю, что в книге четко излагается причина присуждения Гейму и Новоселову Нобелевской премии: Изучение электрических свойств графеновой структуры (а вовсе не за получение термодинамически и химически неустойчивого "свободного" графена как окрестили их работу безграмотные журналисты и рвал на себе волосы В. Петрик). Так же показана возможность ращепления графита с помощью клейких поверхностей с последующим переносом (химической иммобилизацией) мономолекулярного слоя на пластинку из окисленного кремния без потери электро-физических характеристик графена.
